Week 13 [ March 27, 2012]

How far along? 13 weeks 7 days

Baby is the size of: a peach

Total weight gain: back to where I started  {122.4 to 122}

Maternity clothes? yes, finally broke down and bought 5 pairs of pants! they're sooooo comfy!! :) I can't believe I waited this long to get some!
Belly growth: 31.5in

Stretch marks? nah

Sleep: sucks... my back is hurting and I toss and turn and toss and turn

Best moment this week: finding out that our first trimester screening came back normal!!! :) 

Movement: yes, lots! summersaults or something crazy!
Showing? my lil bump is biggest at night

Food cravings: cinnamon roll, fruit snacks, frosty, portillos fries and COFFEE! I had my first white chocolate mocha frappachino since finding out I was preggers. It was like heaven... mmm...

Anything making you queasy or sick: blueberry waffles...puke!!! food is making me queasy too... sounds weird but I'm so tired of food.

Gender prediction: I think girl!

Labor Signs: nope

Symptoms: burpy, headaches and pelvic pain... and difficulty peeing which is supposedly somewhat normal during weeks 13-15 due to my shifting uterus

Feelings: worrying about too many things

Looking forward to: finding out what we're having!!! ahhh
This weeks developments: baby's head is 1/3 of the size of it's body, vocal cords and teeth are forming, intestines are moving from the umbilical cord into the tummy, baby even has tiny little finger prints!

I was pretty sick during the evenings this week. It was so HOT! High 80's in mid-March is crazy!!

We read our little peanut its first dr suess story on friday! Supposedly babies learn a lot when they're in the uterus! Thanks aunt Katy and uncle Rodster :) 

I went to the doctor Monday to get a culture done to see if I have something going on with my bladder. Hopefully not! But won't find out for a couple of days... boo.

Week 12 [ March 18, 2012 ]

How far along? 12 weeks 5 days

Baby is the size of:  a plum

Total weight gain: down .4lbs since last week ?? {122.8 to 122.4}

Maternity clothes? no

Stretch marks? no

Sleep: got another new pillow but it's still not working for me

Best moment this week: seeing how big our peanut has gotten! this is really real! :)

Movement: a bit
Showing? I think I have a bump!

Food cravings: lobster, twizzlers, poptarts

Anything making you queasy or sick: veggies, chicken

Gender prediction: not sure!! Bru has me confused

Labor Signs: no

Symptoms: it's been a warm week so the heat is making me a little nauseous

Feelings: happy

Looking forward to: buying our new car - we went looking this weekend!
This weeks developments: all critical systems are finally formed! Reflexes are developing and fingers and toes can open and close.

The US tech said baby Lite is an overachiever because it is already sucking it's thumb or fingers. They aren't supposed to do that until 15 weeks! The baby was jumping all around and really didn't like being poked and prodded with the US wand. I can't believe how much it was moving around, which she said was really good. Everything is on track for my due date and baby is growing on target!! :) She showed us all the developed parts from crown to rump... we even saw the stomach! And little tiny hands and feet :) We're at 171 bpm. Brian was thinking girl up until now, but after he saw how active baby is, he's starting to think boy. 6 more weeks until we can find out the sex! ahhhhh! I'm dying to know.

Week 11 [ March 12, 2012 ]

How far along? 11 weeks 6 days

Baby is the size of:  a lime

Total weight gain: .8lbs {122 to 122.8}

Maternity clothes? no

Stretch marks? no

Sleep: not great...looking for some relief

Best moment this week: getting another normal thyroid test back!!

Movement: yes, felt the babe do some flips or something
Showing? some say no, but compared to my flat Ice Crew tummy... yes!

Food cravings: chocolate milk, these baked pea chips from Trader Joe's, COFFEE and BEER (but not drinking them!), dirt cup (oreo and pudding)

Anything making you queasy or sick: not really

Gender prediction: still thinking girl

Labor Signs: no

Symptoms: blurred vision, dizziness, itchy tummy (it's growing!)

Feelings: happy

Looking forward to: next week is week 12! We'll get to see the beebs again!
This weeks developments: baby has a 1:1 body to head ratio right now. it's skin is see-thru but looking more and more like a baby. the fingers and toes are no longer webbed. tooth buds, hair folicles and nail beds are forming.


Great news! We met with the endocrinologist again this week and he confirmed I had another normal test. At this point we are just going to monitor my thyroid to ensure it remains at normal levels. 

Week 10 [ March 5, 2012 ]

How far along? 10 weeks 6 days

Baby is the size of:  a prune

Total weight gain: back to my weight before I got preggo {121.4 to 122}

Maternity clothes? nah

Stretch marks? no way!

Sleep: not the best

Best moment this week: figuring out the date range when we'll be able to find out what our little peanut is!

Movement: I think so!!! a little tiny flutter
Showing? I'm starting to think so

Food cravings: not much

Anything making you queasy or sick: any time a eat I get the feeling like being on a roller coaster, yanno when your stomach drops. ew

Gender prediction: starting to think it's a girl because I feel really ugly :(

Labor Signs: no

Symptoms: zits! growing chest! leg cramps!

Feelings: happy...my motivation is starting to come back

Looking forward to: 2 more weeks till 12 weeks!
This weeks developments: baby's arm joints are working and cartilage and bones are forming. vital organs are fully developed and starting to work! finger nails and hair is starting to come in. baby can swallow and kick! ah!

We met with our midwife this week and she told us all about the timing of things and answered all our questions. She won't be there whenI give birth she just acts as a liaison between us and the doctor. Everything is looking good!


I got more blood drawn this week... we'll find out soon if it's normal.

I think I finally have a little bump!
